- Wilhelmina "Mina'' Harker Née Murray
Mina is viewed as the epitome of the perfect woman. She is caring, supportive, intelligent, and she puts the wellbeing of her husband, Johnathan, above her own. As she Mina has no other family apart from her friends and husband she treasures the family she has, but is also very dependent on them for support and reassurance. Her family and friends are important to her and she is wants to make sure that nothing happens to any of them, especially after the loss of her best friend Lucy.
As Mina is a school teacher, she is very gentle, and treats everyone fairly, only seeing the good in others, like an innocent child. Mina is considered an extremely pure individual, and is called "holy” and an "angel" at times. Even when she loses her "innocence" by learning of Vampires and the supernatural, she is still the person that the entire group wishes to protect.
She is the glue that holds everyone together and attracts others to her. She acts as a daughter figure for Van Helsing, a sisterly figure for Arthur, John and Quincey and she is the wife of Johnathan. With these relationships to the characters she takes on many roles that are not only that of a daughter and sister. She is also a motherly individual, who is can be confided in and is able to reassure others. Her charismatic nature is what causes her to be have the most power in terms of control over the men.
Once Mina understands the problems surrounding her she uses her sharp and quick mind to create solutions and help the men in her lives defeat Dracula. Though, Mina is also very insecure and seeks approval from others like Van Helsing, most likely because she sees him as a father. Mina is an individual who is mentally strong, and she doesn’t break down due to pressure, stress or fear like Johnathan once did.
