Dr. John Seward
John Seward works as a doctor in asylum for the mentally impaired, which causes his interactions with others to be a little bit awkward and uncertain. He is rather shy, especially when he had to confess to Lucy, to only be rejected. But even with the rejection, he loves Lucy a great deal and only wishes for her happiness. He is very professional doctor, and likes his job, for he, like Johnathan, has a mind filled with curiosity and questions. He is a very intelligent person who thinks logically and scientifically, believing that everything has an explanation. He looks up to Van Helsing, as he was a previous mentor to him, and he respects his opinion as a fellow doctor.
Once John is exposed to the supernatural and the fact that Lucy is a Vampire, he becomes very distraught knowing that his pure Lucy had become a creature from hell. He justifies killing Lucy’s vampire self, because he still loves Lucy and is heartbroken over her loss and wants vengeance for what happened to her. This is why such a shy man was able to aid in the destruction of Dracula.
